| Course Background |
| The Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine has been providing resuscitation training since 1991. All accredited AHA instructors are practicing medical or nursing colleagues with years of teaching experience. This course uses 2025 update AHA resuscitation guidelines. ACLS Provider Course The ACLS Provider Course provides knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage initial stage of adult arrest. The course uses case-based teaching. Providers are expected to learn to manage ACLS core cases: a respiratory emergency, 4 types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA, and asystole), pre-arrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, and acute coronary syndromes), and stroke. This Course consists of lectures, video show and multiple practical scenarios to help the participants to acquire the techniques of ACLS. Simulators will be used in different scenarios to make the whole training more interesting and challenging. |
| Course Pre-requisites |
| Participants must hold an AHA BLS certification or an equivalent credential. Please upload a copy of your AHA BLS certificate during the online registration process. If participants do not have a BLS certification, we encourage you to enroll in the BLS Provider Course. |
| Course Completion Requirements |
| To complete the BLS Course for Healthcare Providers, participants should able to demonstrate the skills of adult and infant CPR and use of AEDs. Additionally, they must achieve a minimum score of 84% on the written multiple-choice examination. |
| Reading Material |
| The course material including the AHA ACLS Provider Manual will be ready for collection after successful application. Early application and collection of course materials is much encouraged. |
