Mission and objectives of HKCEM Ultrasound subcommittee

Mission

The HKCEM Ultrasound Subcommittee is dedicated to promoting and advancing emergency point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) in Hong Kong by enhancing training, competency, and research.

Objectives

  • Provide emergency PoCUS education for physicians and residents.
  • Foster collaboration in emergency PoCUS research.
  • Develop tools and pathways for competency assessment and quality assurance.
  • Serve as a networking platform for HKCEM members interested in emergency PoCUS.
  • Collaborate with national and international PoCUS organizations.

Strategies

  • Develop and disseminate HKCEM ultrasound position statements, curricula, and guidelines, following Board-approved processes.
  • Collaborate with various organizations and activities including different HKAM colleges, international PoCUS training centers, residency programs and PoCUS courses.
  • Establish an online database of emergency ultrasound resources (e.g., research, curricula, educational materials).
  • Facilitate the coordination and prioritization of emergency PoCUS research
